Data Science Advising

WE'VE MOVED!

Beginning in Spring 2023, Data Science Advising is located at 130 Warren Hall (at the corner of Oxford St and Hearst Ave).

Summer Advising Schedule: Please note that advising services will be limited from May 15-30, while we focus on Commencement and processing major applications and degree certifications. During this time, the best way to reach an advisor is to email ds-advising@berkeley.edu. Regular appointments and drop-in advising will resume for the Summer beginning the week of May 30.

Current students may schedule a 30-minute advising appointment with a Data Science Major Advisor.

Advising appointments become available each weekday, up to 1 week in advance. If you don't see any appointments available, please try again the following day or come to our virtual drop-in advising hours instead (schedule below).

During Summer 2023, all appointments are held virtually.

Drop-in advising is available during the Fall and Spring semesters from Week 1 through RRR Week, and during Summer Session. Drop-in advising is not available during Finals week or during breaks between terms.

When your name reaches the top of the list, this means that you will be next.

• For online drop-in sessions: make sure to have your UC Berkeley email account open. As soon as an advisor is available, you will receive an email from a Data Science Advisor with a link to join your online Google Hangouts or Zoom session and your name will disappear from the queue around the same time. Join your Google Hangouts or Zoom session within 5 minutes of receiving the email.
• For in-person peer advising drop-in sessions: make sure you are present in 130 Warren Hall when your name reaches the top of the list. Have a seat in our lobby and the next available peer advisor will come call your name.

You will not be able to sign in if drop-in hours have not started or have already ended. Sign-ins may end early if the waiting list is already too long for advisors to see all waiting students.
