Peer Advising

Peer Advisors complement the Data Science Advising services by sharing their diverse knowledge of and experiences with major courses, different Data Science Major domain emphases, extracurriculars and student groups on campus, research opportunities, and various campus resources.

FALL 2021: Peer Advisors are available for drop-in advising beginning in week two of the semester. They will be unavailable during campus official holidays and the week of Thanksgiving Break (November 22-26, 2021) . Their last day of advising for the Fall 2021 semester will be Thursday, December 2nd.

Hello! My name is Aishwarya and I am a junior studying Data Science and Economics with a concentration in Economics. I am also pursuing SCET’s Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology. Prior to joining Berkeley I wasn’t sure about my confidence in programming and statistics, but DATA 8 and a connector course solidified my interest in Data Science because of their approachability and interdisciplinary nature. In my free time I like to cook, watch all things Disney, exercise, and explore the Bay! I would be happy to answer questions related to class planning, major related questions, career planning, or any other questions you’re interested in having answered.

Hi, I’m Ananya, a fourth year majoring in Data Science with a concentration in Applied Mathematics and Modeling and a minor in South/Southeast Asian studies. I originally came to Berkeley intending to be an Applied Math major, but as I took more math classes and Data 8, I realized Data Science was a more fitting major for me. If you don’t catch me on campus, I’m usually working out, watching YouTube videos, or eating Sliver! I also try to stay involved with the greater Berkeley area through community service. I’ve had my fair share of battles with courses and beyond, so if you ever need any advice, whether for your courses or not, feel free to drop by during my advising hours!
