The Air Force is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. Every year a deep
thorough analysis is conducted to identify barriers that may exist for any particular group
within the population. Although we have access to many more data points, the majority of
the time, race, ethnicity and gender are the only data points used to create assumptions,
frame problems and guide decision-making. Without a holistic approach to measuring
diversity and an objective methodology for goal setting, we run the risk of engineering
populations based on limited data.

The goal of this project is to build a Diversity Data Analysis Tool (DDAT)
o This tool will be a template and have the capability for users to drop data sets into it
for analysis (interactive Excel Spreadsheet with auto-graphing, Tableau Dashboard
or better platform)
o The tool will have the capability to load multiple years of data in order to trend year-
over-year.
o The tool will have the capability to model future years for goal-setting purposes to
simulate futures.
o The tool will have filtering options with the ability to look at an individual specifically,
a group of individuals per location, or by diversity factor(s).
o The tool might have the ability to put a “weight” on specific diversity factors (still
thinking about this one)
o The tool should support analysis, decision-making and goal setting from a Targeted
Universalism methodology
