Question: What is your discipline/field of study?
Answer: I am an environmental planner focusing on climate change adaptation at the regional level.

Q: How are you applying data science?
A: I am analyzing free remote sensing derived data available for Cuba. I am extracting land cover trajectories from EU's CCI annual land cover maps 1992-2015 and from nighttime lights in DMSP OLS 1992-2014.

Q: What advice would you give students who are interested in data science?
A: If you want to learn how to code for your project, don't listen to people who don't code that tell you it's not necessary. Find the places that support your curiosity and that provide you with the tools to learn.
