Conference/Symposium | June 27 – July 1, 2022 every day | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | B-100 Blum Hall

Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society, Microsoft, GitHub, Deepnote

Join us to learn about data science education and meet fellow educators involved in shaping the discipline at the undergraduate level. In this fifth annual meeting, we will combine the benefits of in-person and online conferences as we continue to build community.

This one-of-a-kind workshop will cover topics such as investigating the ethics behind algorithms, incorporating Python into statistics and computer science classes, and discussing the latest developments in data science education.

The first two days (June 27-28) will be hosted in person in Blum Hall on the UC Berkeley campus, where we will explore Berkeley’s Data Science Undergraduate Studies program, including its open-source curriculum and popular major.

Activities on the following three days (June 29-July 1) will be hybrid, featuring a few in-person speakers and a prominent online presence. We will also facilitate panel discussions of national and international reach with a diverse group of data science educators.

The workshop is free for in-person and online participants. Visit this page to register or learn more (PDF flyer). Please contact ds-help@berkeley.edu with any questions.
