Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost Paul Alivisatos sent the following message today:

Dear Faculty,      

At the end of last semester, Iannounced the launch of the search for the position ofAssociate Provost of Data Science and Information and Dean of the School of Informationand invited you to provide input to the search committee. We have received robust feedback and many nominations through thesurveyso far, and I ask those of you who have not yet completed the survey to consider providing your thoughts.

This coming Monday, January 28th, search consultants fromWitt/Kiefferwill be holding meetings with members of the campus community to gather feedback about this new role. Search committee members will also be in attendance. The meetings will be structured as a series of open forums for faculty, staff and students, and I strongly encourage those of you with an interest in the new Division of Data Science to consider attending. In addition to soliciting your input, our search consultants will leave time to answer questions you may have about the process or other aspects of the search.

12:30-1:30 - Faculty Open Forum, Social Sciences Matrix Conference Room (8th Floor of Barrows Hall)
2:00-3:00 - Faculty Open Forum, 370 Dwinelle Hall
