In Fall 2017, the Data Science Discovery Program gave 50 Berkeley undergraduates the chance to deepen their learning in more than a dozen data science projects across a fabulously wide set of domains. Data science skills let students discover new knowledge and create solutions across a broad range of areas. The Data Science Discovery Program allows them to explore their interests and build their own pathways from Berkeley’s data science classes directly into hands-on research.

The Library, the Division of Data Sciences, BIDS, and the Data Science Nexus student clubs welcomes you the Fall 2017 Data Science Showcase on December 7th at Moffitt Library, Room 405 from 11 to 5PM. Over 150 data science projects from Data 8, Division of Data Sciences student teams, BIDS Discovery Projects, and various Data Science Nexus student clubs like Machine Learning at Berkeley will be presented.

The Berkeley Division of Data Sciences and the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) are proud to announce the Berkeley Distinguished Lectures in Data Science. This series features faculty doing visionary research that illustrates the character of the ongoing data, computational, inferential revolution. In this inaugural Fall 2017 "local edition" we bring together Berkeley faculty working in these areas here on our own campus.
