Partnerships that extend across and beyond campus are one of the key features of Berkeley's robust data science ecosystem. Become a Partner.

CITRIS and Banatao Institute
Headquartered at Berkeley, the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) and the Banatao Institute leverage the research strengths of four University of California campuses — Berkeley, Davis, Merced, and Santa Cruz — to create technology solutions for society’s most pressing challenges.
D-Lab
D-Lab helps Berkeley faculty, staff, and graduate students move forward with world-class research in data intensive social science, providing cross-disciplinary resources for in-depth consulting and advising, access to staff support, and training and provisioning for software and other infrastructure needs. D-Lab also builds networks through which Berkeley researchers can connect with users of social science data in the off-campus world.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
A U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory managed by the University of California, Berkeley Lab is home to researchers advancing the scope of human knowledge and seeking science solutions to some of the greatest problems facing humankind.

Moore Sloan Data Science Environments
The Data Science Environments Partnership includes New York University, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Washington, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The goal of this partnership is to advance data-intensive scientific discovery, empowering researchers to be vastly more effective by utilizing new methods, new tools, new partnerships, and new career paths.

West Big Data Innovation Hub
One of four regional hubs funded by the National Science Foundation to serve as thought leaders and conveners, the West Big Data Innovation Hub brings together universities, nonprofits, industry, and state and local governments to tackle societal grand challenges. UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, and the University of Washington coordinate the 13-state West region.
